About the Raleigh-Durham J.A.T.C.
The Raleigh-Durham Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (JATC) is an educational center that provides extensive training to individuals seeking an electrical career with the IBEW and our participating employers. Our vision is to educate registered apprentices to be the most capable and well-trained professional electricians available to service the electrical needs of “The Research Triangle” region.
The Research Triangle region includes cities such as:
- Raleigh
- Durham
- Chapel Hill
- Fayetteville
And many others highlighted on the right
Under the strict training standards of the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee, the Raleigh-Durham Electrical J.A.T.C is committed to:
- Providing “earn while you learn” apprenticeship education
- Recruiting and training qualified electrical apprentices
- Providing upgrade training for journeyman electricians
- Maintaining progressive training facilities and materials
- Providing on-the-job training work and learning opportunities
- Supplying a qualified electrical workforce – at no cost to taxpayers
Labor and Management Working Together!
The Raleigh-Durham Electrical J.A.T.C. is administered and fully funded through a partnership between the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (I.B.E.W.) Local Union 553 and the Atlantic Coast Chapter, National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA).
